Why Regenerative?

The essence of the word is perfect. Regenerative is to regrow or be renewed or restored, especially after being damaged or lost. Life as we know it has changed dramatically the last couple years, these changes and shifts effect the workplace. Businesses have a great responsibility that is also an opportunity to be part of the solution. This is an opportunity for businesses to regrow, renew, and restore how we work. Supporting people in the workplace is a key part of what differentiates businesses that survive from those that thrive.

It’s not about trying to go back to the way it was or settling for the way it is now, it’s moving forward in a whole new way. This is Regenerative Workplace.

Consider This…

Tend to the needs of your business like a gardener tends to the needs of their garden. An experienced gardener knows how important the quality of soil and the overall environment play on the overall health and productivity of their garden. Throughout the growing season, the gardener makes sure the plants have enough water, provide additional nutrients, and perhaps, a sprinkle of gratitude for the extra sunshine that helps the garden thrive. Long before that, though, the gardener came up with a plan (the map) for the garden. The map highlights different plants types and when to plant the different varieties, how often to water and add fertilizer each plant type needs in order for the garden to thrive. The gardener knows that it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach - that the needs of the plants vary. The gardener also knows that the quality of soil is essential, so the plan includes adding soil amendments such as compost, lime, peat moss, etc. prior to planting. To put this another way, the gardener knows what the soil needs so that the plants will thrive.

Tend to the needs of your business like a gardener tends to the needs of their garden. A leader/business owner knows how important the quality of the workplace and the overall environment play on the overall health and productivity of employees. Throughout the year, the leader/business owner makes sure employees have resources to support both their well-being and what they need to excel in their work, and perhaps, a sprinkle of gratitude throughout the year for the value each employee provides to make the business thrive. Long before that, though, the leader/business owner came up with a plan (the map) for the business. The map highlighted different areas of expertise to sustain a thriving business and support the needs of employees in a way that boosts productivity and loyalty. The leader/business owner knows that it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach, instead that the needs of employees vary. The leader/business owner also knows that the quality of the workplace is essential to attract and retain talent, so the plan includes creating a culture that supports the overall health, well-being, and psychological safety. With this in mind, the leader/business owner knows that employees are able to show up to work at their best. To put this another way, the leader/business owner knows what the workplace needs so that the employees and the business will thrive.

This is your opportunity to create a workplace that supports the health and well-being of employees, just like a thriving, well-tended to garden yields an amazing crop year after year. Let’s connect to discuss how this approach to working can support the teams and leaders in your workplace.

  • How does it work?

It starts with a Discovery Phase that consists of a series of in-depth conversations, questionnaires, and assessments. These discussions and tools will guide our overall understanding of organizational relationships, strengths, challenges, goals, and needs to cultivate a regenerative workplace.

What we learn in the Discovery Phase (e.g., identify gaps in existing training, employee support, staffing, leadership and team development, cultural hygiene) is used to Create a Plan. This Plan is customized to meet the unique needs of your business, one that creates a regenerative workplace, one that supports the overall health and well-being of your business and employees.

Finally, we Regenerate. This is where we implement the Plan based on the unique needs of your business (or, if you like the earthy metaphor, add amendments to create a fertile environment for your plants (people) to support a thriving and productive work environment.
